For any patient who has visit Dr. Westreich, they are well acquainted with our front desk receptionist, Ossy Morris. Our very own, Ossy shares her experience with Kybella, a new injectable treatment for the double chin:

Dear Friends,

Today is day 1 post my first Kybella injection. I invite you to join in on my journey/experience in removing the fullness under my chin. Along with other great fillers, such as Restylane, Juvederm, Voluma, Radiesse, Botox, and Boletero, which Dr. Westreich has so skillfully administered through the years. He is now offering Kybella, an innovative, very little downtime treatment with a permanent result. The active ingredient in Kybella is deoxycholic acid, a naturally occurring molecule in the body that aids in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat.

I’m very excited to see the fat under my neck gone. As a 55 year young woman, besides being a little overweight, I don’t think I’m doing too bad at all. However, I am not gaining weight on my face, which was not the case in the past. I think we can all agree that every little bit that we do to help us look better helps. My experience with Kybella so far is so much easier than I expected. It didn’t hurt, of course, I have the privilege of working for the best surgeon in NY, who is very gentle and makes every patient’s experience as pleasant as possible. Dr. Westreich used lidocaine to numb the area so that when injecting Kybella, I only felt a very slight pinch. At first, I was hesitant about having Kybella because of the swelling that is supposed to last 2-6 days. I have to say I am pleasantly surprised. Yes, I am a little swollen (it looks worse in photos than in person), but nothing like I expected. I sit at the front desk in the office and I’m not hiding my face from our patients, because I know I look pretty much the same, unless I point it out to someone. I felt a little sore once the lidocaine wore off, and still, today washing my face was a little tender, but no real pain. I am also a little numb in the areas injected, but the little discomfort that I am experiencing is so worth the benefit I will reap.

I’m looking forward to having a smooth, fat-free neck again. Be well and I hope to see you soon for any one of our great treatments.

Warm Regards,

Ossy Morris
