Full Case Details:
This patient underwent a Closed Primary Rhinoplasty for congestion, smiling concerns and lack of definition. With relatively thicker skin and softer cartilage, the result took longer to see, and while she was happy at her 6 month appointment, she was MUCH happier at her 12 month appointment. Cartilage grafting was only done in the central tip, with a columellar strut and a double cap graft. The profile was reduced and extra bony narrowing was achieved with intermediate osteotomies. Alar base reduction was performed, as well as right nasal base suspension. Nasal base suspension helps to correct horizontal tilting of the nasal base, which often results from facial asymmetry. While technically a lip lift maneuver, it can be extremely helpful in improving nostril symmetry and balance when done without a lip lift, as part of a Rhinoplasty procedure.
