Complex Closed Tip and Profile Revision Rhinoplasty using cadaveric rib, temporalis, and septal cartilage. Prior open rhinoplasty resulted in multiple cosmetic and functional problems, which were repaired using a closed approach for nasal reconstruction.
Surgical intervention and not the approach (open vs. closed) is the key to successful outcomes in Rhinoplasty. Understanding the anatomy, how it creates definition due to light control, and how to predictably modify it is the key to ultimate success. Prior open surgery can be revised closed in most instances, which reduces post-operative healing times and often allows the prior open scar to improve dramatically.
